Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Marten, including the iOS and Android apps, the web app at app.martenmaps.com, and this website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Marten.
The service
Marten provides hunting and outdoor maps, GPS tools, and a place to save waypoints, tracks, lines, and areas. Coverage, layers, and features vary by region and membership plan. We may change, limit, or discontinue parts of the service.
Maps are not a survey
Boundaries, parcels, public-land status, hunting units, roads, and other map data are compiled from public and third-party sources. They can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. They are not a legal survey, title search, or substitute for official agency maps, regulations, or landowner permission. You are responsible for knowing where you are allowed to hunt, travel, and camp, and for following all hunting and land-use laws.
Your account
You must provide an accurate email and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on the account. We may suspend or delete an account that abuses the service, infringes others’ rights, or violates these terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of waypoints, tracks, notes, photos, and other content you add. You grant us a license to store, display, and sync that content so the service works, including when you share a link. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use. We may remove content that is unlawful or that interferes with the service.
Subscriptions
Paid plans (Premium) unlock additional layers and limits. Price and billing period are shown before you subscribe.
- Purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by Apple or Google. Cancel those in the Marten app or the store, as described on the cancellation page.
- Purchases we bill directly (including the web app) are canceled by emailing privacy@martenmaps.com as described on that same page.
Canceling stops renewal. You keep paid features until the end of the period already paid for. We do not refund unused time in the current period unless Apple, Google, or applicable law requires it.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, scrape at abusive volume, reverse-engineer, or resell the service. Do not use Marten to trespass, harass, or violate the law.
Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that maps, location, or sync will be accurate, available, or error-free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Marten Maps is not liable for hunting outcomes, navigation errors, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars, whichever is greater.

How we handle personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change, and we will post the new version at this URL. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
